It is a precipice of clay formation in the river. Every day in early hours, macaws, parrots and other species of birds perform their ceremony of flit before they begin their amazing activity (Colpeo) in the clay lick. In this adventure we will mix the program with the majesty of the Sandoval Lake, a paradise surrounded by lot of flora and fauna
This activity consists in taking the enough clay from the clay lick in early hours and after 25 minutes to 30 minutes they will leave the clay lick to get back the next day. Many groups of macaws have been seen at unusual times and usually in smaller groups. The only reason of this spectacular and fascinating natural show is still in debate and the answer depends on investigations. Many theories suggest that this clay contains mineral and vital salts which are used on their diets. It is believed that the small particles of clay are useful to desintoxicate their diet of fruits.
